Hiking in Toblach & surroundings
Turquoise blue sparkling water, imposing rock formations, the unique Drei Zinnen and magical views wait for you. Pack your backpack, lace your hiking boots, have your camera ready!
From the Fischleintal valley to the Zsigmondy hut via the Büllelejoch up to the Drei Zinnen. The hut round excursion to the Dreizinnenhütte is one of the classic hiking routes in the Dolomites.
Starting point is the paid parking at the Dolomitenhof in the Fischleintal (1,454 m). From there, hike on path no. 103 just to Talschlusshütte (1,548 m). At the Talschlusshütte, turn right on path 102/103 in the Altensteintal, then up to a crossorads. Turn left and climb on path 103 over the valley bottom of the Bacherntal up to the Zsigmondy Hut (2,224 m). From the shelter, you will hike on the old warpath marked with nr. 101 to the Büllelejochhütte (2,528 m). Shortly further to Büllelejoch (2,522 m), on the north side over a scree steeply down and then in a beautiful, flat hike to the lakes. From there you climb briefly up to the Dreizinnenhütte (2,405 m), where you can enjoy the unique view of the Three Peaks.
Descent: For the descent through the Altensteintal valley, take trail 102 back to the lakes, down to the Talschlusshütte in the Fischleintal valley and back to the starting point of the tour.
How to get there: Via the Puster Valley State Road SS49 from Toblach to Innichen and on to Sexten. From there to the Fischleintal to the paid parking at the Dolomitenhof (1,454 m).

From the hotel in Lake Braies walk to the south end of the lake. Continu on the Dolomite’s Alpine Ridgeway nr. 1 through the steep valley called Buco del Giavo/Nabiges Loch, until you reach the Porta sora al Forn/Ofenscharte (2380 m) after about 2,5 hours. From there the trail branches off to the right and continues on the marked trail over the ridge, which is secured by cable railing, over rocky terrain to the summit (2810 m). From the Ofenscharte you reach the summit in about 1.5 hours.
Descent: as the climb or back to Ofenschafte and from there to the Seekofel hut, which is located on the south side only a few minutes walk (2327 m). On the right hand side continue on the Dolomites Trail no. 23 via the Seitenbachtal to Grünwaldalm. From there on path no. 19 back to Lake Braies.
Directions: from Dobbiaco on the SS49 to the Valley entrance of Braies/Prags (left hand side) - in Schmieden keep right and continue to the paid parking at the Pragser Wildsee.

The Mount Serla/Sarlkofel is located in the Fanes Sennes Prags Nature Park and is our home-mountain. From the 2,378-meter-high peakt you have a 360° view of Dobbiaco and the surrounding mountains. The hike starts directly from our farm on the forest trail no. 16 to the meadows of Troger/Trogeralm, where the path no. 16 goes right side in the middle of the wood until the Pass Suis/Suisridl. Continue on the path no. 33, which takes you to the Sarl-Sattel/Forcella di Serla and forward at the left to the top (partly exposed trail).
Descent: The descent can be made via the same route as the ascent or via the path no. 33 to the Sarlrindl and then on the path no. 14 to the nature trail at the Lake of Toblacher. When you arrive at the lake, the trail no. 29 leads back to our farm.

One of the most beautiful excursion line for the entire family is the Lake of Toblach with its nature educational trail. An ideal route also for a short Nordic Walking Tour!
From our farm, the tour goes in southern direction toward the Segheria/Säge, a small group of houses. From there, you can reach the lake via the forest path no. 29 after approx. 1.5 km. The nature trail begins on the right side of the lake and includes eleven noticeboards giving detailed information about the wildlife and the geomorphology of the area. From Lake Toblach you can take the same way to go back to our farm. Alternatively, you can walk over the bike path to the Nordic Arena and walk on path no. 29 to Rienz to reach our farm.

Aufkirchen/Santa Maria-Wahlen/San Silvestro-Toblach/Dobbiaco
Starting from our farm, hike slightly downhill to Rienz (path no. 16). From there, take the Tiefenweg (path no. 27) to Alttoblach/Unterdorf. Near the ice rink and football field (Gustav-Mahler-Straße), cross the bridge over the river Silvesterbach and follow the paved dirt road no. 11B direction west. After about 2 km, you will reach a group of houses called "Neunhäusern", from where a paved, steep dirt road (number 11) leads directly to Aufkirchen/Santa Maria. Here you can enjoy the sun on a bench and admire the beautiful view on the Landro Valley with the sleeping giant. After a little rest continue on the sunny road almost as far as Dobbiaco. Arrived to a small wooden hut, a panoramic dirt road branches off to the left (route 41), which leads to a small chapel, called "Leitnstöckl”. Crossing the small fraction Wahlen, path no 1 leads along the stream back to the center of Dobbiaco, continuing on the lower village and the Tiefenweg into the Rienz (number 27) and back to the farm..

From our farm you hike slightly downhill to the district of Rienz (trail no. 16), until the ski center Rienz. The trail no. 27 now leads westwards, past the lifts through meadows to the farms of Altschluderbach, where the wildlife park with the summer residence of Gustav Mahler is located. We think you should visit it: our guests have one free entry per person (ask us for your free ticket)! From the nature park, continue on trail no. 27, slightly uphill towards southwest, and then continue westwards to Bad Maistatt (our farm was originally located here) and Niederdorf. Once in Niederdorf, you can take the train back to Dobbiaco. If you are not tired yet, you can hike from the village center Niederdorf along the Rienz to the newly designed park in Niederdorf, then on to the mini zoo "Camping Olympia" until you reach the locality Gratsch, the Rienz and back to the farm.

Cycling and mountain biking in Toblach
Step into the pedals and take a stunningly beautiful ride in the surroundings of the Three Peaks - whether a comfortable ride with the eBike or a challenging bike ride on the mountain bike, the right thing will be there for you!
The bike road Dobbiaco - Cortina is an easy mountain bike tour along the old railway from Dobbiaco to Cortina. The bike tour starts directly at our farm. From here, a small road leads south, passes the Lake of Toblach, the Three Peaks and the Lake of Landro to the Cimabanche Pass (1,530 m). From the highest point, the trail descends slightly through two illuminated tunnels to Cortina d'Ampezzo. Return by bus only with Cortina Express possible! The family-friendly cycling tour leads from Dobbiaco via San Candido and Sillian along the Drau to Lienz. Due to the slight gradient, the bike path is ideal for families with children. From the station in Dobbiaco it goes on a paved road parallel to the train to Innichen (about 3 kilometers bike path). From there, a well-signposted cycle path leads to Vierschach and Winnebach to the border station Austria-Italy. There you continue along the Drau river to Sillian, Tassenbach, Strassen, Abfaltersbach, Mittelwald and Assling, until finally the first groups of houses of Lienz are reached. Back on the bike or return comfortably by train.

This tour starts directly from our farm in direction of Lake Toblach and leads to Prato Piazza, a pasture at an altitude of 2,000 meters, with overwhelming panoramic view of the nearby mountains Picco Vallandro, Corda Rossa, Monte Cristallo and Tofane. The first part of the bike tour leads over the old railway line Dobbiaco - Cortina passing the war cemetery, the Three Peaks view and the Lake of Landro, to the intersection to Misurina. There you cycle for about 700 m on the main road in direction Cortina and turn right onto an old military road. Here begins the gravel road to the Dürrensteinhütte (2.040), where a break can be inserted to enjoy the beautiful panorama overlooking the Three Peaks. The route continues along the high plateau of the Plätzwiese to the Hotel Hohe Gaisl, then down to the Gasthof Brückele in the Pragsertal. Then it goes over the Prags Valley, Niederdorf and back to Dobbiaco.
